It is a shame twitter posts no longer show here in Substack ^ and I hope that gets resolved. I am late to understanding what’s going on between the two entities or what happened. I digress but still it’s annoying.
Anyways, to the topic of mind. I often work with folks who suffer from OCD type thoughts or fears - manifest as chronic conscious worry and anxiety. Spinning a story in these moments is different from a traditional trigger, in that you aren’t taking some big and regrettable action that can hurt you long-term - rather, you are engaging in micro obsessive behaviors such as chronically checking social media, mindlessly scrolling or numbing out with entertainment, drinking, over-eating, and generally making yourself “full” even if it’s just over-working or having a full schedule, in order to “avoid” some grave disaster i.e. perceivable humiliation, personal cancellation, or loss.
