Lack of empathy is a success killer and it is different from lacking compassion or sympathy. The very act of being compassionate or sympathetic is an outward one - you are offering another person your version of love in a sense. You may give them your time and energy, gifts, etc. But empathy is different - an inward process - and many people suffer from empathy deficit.
